Health Screening Packages
A private health screening can help you understand your current health, identify risk factors early and take practical steps to improve your wellbeing.
At Medical Solutions GP Services, we offer a range of health screening packages, from a simple basic health check to a more detailed review including blood tests, cardiovascular screening, diabetes risk assessment, lifestyle review and a personalised report.
Health checks can help identify risk factors linked with conditions such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease. The NHS describes health checks as a way to assess cardiovascular health and risk of conditions including heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease and stroke.

What the Screening Includes:
Physical Measurements
-
Height, Weight and Waist Measurement
These measurements help assess your general body composition and health risk. Waist measurement can be useful because carrying more weight around the abdomen may be linked with higher cardiometabolic risk. -
Body Mass Index
BMI is a calculation based on your height and weight. It can help indicate whether your weight may be affecting your health, although it does not measure muscle, fitness or body composition on its own. -
Body Fat Percentage
This estimates the proportion of your body made up of fat tissue. It can provide additional context alongside weight, BMI and waist measurement. -
Basal Metabolic Rate
Your basal metabolic rate is an estimate of how much energy your body uses at rest. -
Estimated Energy Requirements
This estimates how much energy your body may need each day, depending on your physical measurements and activity level.
Cardiovascular Health
-
Blood Pressure
Blood pressure measures the force of blood against your artery walls. High blood pressure often has no symptoms but can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. -
Comprehensive Cholesterol Profile
A cholesterol profile looks at fats in the blood. This can include cholesterol markers that help assess cardiovascular risk. -
QRISK Heart Health Score
QRISK is a cardiovascular risk score. It estimates your risk of developing cardiovascular disease over the next 10 years based on factors such as age, sex, blood pressure, cholesterol and medical history. -
Heart Rhythm Screening
Heart rhythm screening checks for irregularities in your pulse or rhythm. This may help identify rhythm problems that need further assessment. -
Resting ECG
An ECG records the electrical activity of the heart. It can help identify certain rhythm problems or signs that may need further medical review.
Diabetes Screening
-
HbA1c Blood Test
HbA1c is a blood test that reflects average blood glucose levels over the previous 2–3 months. It is commonly used to screen for, diagnose and monitor diabetes. -
QDiabetes Type 2 Risk Score
This estimates your risk of developing type 2 diabetes using health and lifestyle risk factors.
Muscles, Bones and Joints
-
Mobility
This looks at how well you move and whether stiffness, pain or reduced flexibility may be affecting your day-to-day function. -
Flexibility Review
This can be helpful if you have aches, reduced mobility, a sedentary lifestyle, a physically demanding job or concerns about joint health.
Blood Tests
-
Full Blood Count
A full blood count checks red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. It can help identify issues such as anaemia, infection markers or other abnormalities that may need follow-up. -
Kidney Function
Kidney function tests help assess how well your kidneys are working. -
Liver Function
Liver function tests check markers linked with liver health and inflammation. -
Thyroid Function
Thyroid tests assess whether your thyroid may be underactive or overactive. -
Vitamin D
Vitamin D is important for bone, muscle and immune health. -
Ferritin
Ferritin reflects iron stores. Low ferritin can be linked with iron deficiency. -
Vitamin B12 and Folate
B12 and folate are important for red blood cell production and nerve function. -
Coeliac Screen
A coeliac screen checks for markers that may suggest coeliac disease, an autoimmune condition where the body reacts to gluten.
Organ and Function Tests
-
Lung Age Test
A lung age test gives an estimate of how your lung function compares with expected values. This can be useful for smokers, ex-smokers, people with breathlessness, or those wanting a better understanding of their respiratory health. -
Targeted Physical Examination
Included in the Gold Package, this is a focused clinical examination based on your symptoms, health risks and screening findings. -
Wellbeing and Lifestyle Review
Health is not only about blood tests. Our wellbeing review can include:- Sleep
- Stress
- Exercise
- Diet
- Alcohol intake
- Smoking status
- Weight goals
- Family history
- Lifestyle risks
- Personal health goals
- The Gold Package includes health goal setting and a follow-up call to help you understand your results and next steps.
Your Personalised Report
After your screening, you will receive a personalised report explaining your results in plain English.
Where appropriate, we can also provide a GP letter if your results need further investigation, follow-up or ongoing management.

Important Information
- Health screening is designed to identify risk factors and support early action. It is not a replacement for urgent medical care.
- You should seek urgent medical help if you have symptoms such as chest pain, severe breathlessness, signs of stroke, severe abdominal pain, collapse, severe allergic reaction or any medical emergency.
- Screening results may lead to advice to contact your GP, attend further investigations, repeat blood tests, or seek specialist referral.
